The Library of the Flensburg Maritime Museum
The Flensburg Maritime Museum not only offers exhibits and background information on seafaring, the port and the German-Danish colonial history of Flensburg, but has also built up an extensive library on these subjects.
The book collection covers the sugar and rum trade (transatlantic slave trade) as well as literature on the history of the city and Flensburg’s ships. The volunteer librarians are always in the museum on Tuesdays from 13.00 to 16.00 and will be happy to provide you with the right books for your research by prior arrangement. The books can be read in the museum and extracts can be copied. The books cannot be borrowed, this is a reference library only.
