Postcolonial city walks in Flensburg in spring 2023
How does Flensburg live and experience its coloniality? Where do we stand? What has changed? And what could the future look like? With these questions, the Pilkentafel Theatre Workshop invited people to talk about Flensburg's colonial heritage on December 14th 2022. In this blog post we would like to briefly summarise the results of the evening.
The theatre workshop Pilkentafel's autumn 2022 programme deals with heritage. What do we inherit and to what extent does it define us? How do we deal with our colonial heritage? And what will we bequeath one day?
What do Flensburg and Altona have to do with colonialism? Are there connections between the two cities? Similarities or differences? After a short introduction and a lecture, we would like to talk about this with anyone who is interested.

On Monday, June 13, Prof. Sybille Bauriedl will give a lecture on colonial amnesia in Flensburg as part of the lecture series "Unsayable" at the Phänomenta in Flensburg.
On Friday, June 10, 2022, at 6 pm, a panel discussion on the culture of remembrance in Flensburg will take place at the Museumsberg. Representatives of state politics, science and the practice of remembrance will discuss the topic.
