Sønderjylland-Schleswig Kolonial

The page Sønderjylland-Schleswig Colonial is a joint project of the Flensburg Maritime Museum, Museum Sønderjylland – Kulturhistorie Aabenraa and the Schleswig Collection of the Danish Central Library Flensburg. The aim of the project is to collect and communicate the colonial references of the region between Eider and Königsau.

Among other things, the website contains a regional colonial atlas, which can be used to rediscover the historical and contemporary traces of colonialism and to list places of remembrance.

Also, in 2018, the anthology “Sønderjylland-Schleswig Kolonial” by Marco L. Petersen was published, which contains almost 500 pages dedicated to the search for colonial references in the German-Danish border region.
